There you have it, my royal companion – a short list of castles in the Walt Disney World parks. Fun fact: Akershus Castle served as inspiration for Elsa and Anna’s castle in Arendelle in the film Frozen. The West Wing is my personal favorite because you can see the Beast’s rose and portrait. Although the exterior view is really cool, its the inside that wows You can be seated in one of three dining rooms: the Grand Ballroom, the Castle Gallery and the West Wing. The Walt Disney World castle that you probably stop in awe of every single trip, have photographed. I’ve tried to explain how each castle succeeds. It should go without saying that this list is subjective. We don’t rank all the castles in Disney parks, as Magic Kingdom contains several other than Cinderella Castle, like Belle & Beast’s and Ariel & Prince Eric’s, for example. The original castle originally served the traditional purpose of being a royal residence, but was later expanded into a fortress in the late 1500s. This castle is based on the real-life Akershus Castle and Fortress in Oslo, Norway, which was built in the year 1299. After a major overhaul that was announced in 2016, Hong Kong is now home to the Castle of Magical Dreams, which features 13 different Disney princesses and heroes.
